CoinMarketCap has added a large number of new features to its platform as part of its major quarterly product update.
The additional features include a professional API, information on crypto derivatives markets, exchange ranking updates, a newsletter feature, digital currency glossary, and more.
The company announced the news on a log post earlier today. CoinMarketCap founder Brandon Chez claimed that the renovation was compliant with the site’s commitment to speed up the adoption of cryptocurrency.
A new professional API is the first mentioned among a variety of updates. It wished to help professional users to integrate the site’s functionality into their own products. According to the post, this new feature aims to boost the number of “cryptocurrency products and institutional funds investing in the space.”
The post also revealed that the API has been tested over the course of a month by “hundreds of users.”
“Our API comes with a best-in-class developer dashboard that will help every developer – from hobbyist to large-scale cryptocurrency product teams – make the most of our data,” Chez added.
Besides the API, the site now includes data on various derivatives related to crypto and features a revamped exchange section. The derivatives area contains data on futures contracts, options, and over-the-counter (OTC) exchanges, attempting to add more products as they become available.
Moreover, the site has also tried to make exchanges more accessible from the landing page. There are also additional options to rank platforms according to trading volume over various periods.
In response to the requests of launching a daily newsletter which covers “trends, news, and updates,” Chez said:
“With the newsletter, we want to provide additional information on the constantly-evolving field of cryptocurrency projects, ideas, and philosophies.”
The quarterly update also lists other features including a new global events page featuring imminent industry meetups, a glossary of cryptocurrency terminology, and an update for the website’s designated iOS application. Finally, the post mentions the launch of new blog section and mentions the previously reported CoinMarketCap subreddit and careers page.
