Brave, a firm devoted to improving Internet use and ensuring that content creators get their rightful earnings, has recently attained another the milestone. On Thursday, May 16, they have verified, News Public Radio (NPR) as a “Brave Publisher” reports CryptoSlate. This implies that anyone who reads NPR’s content can now tip the writer in Basic Attention Token (BAT).
The reason why this is a milestone is because of having gained NPR’s trust, as the latter is deemed ‘America’s largest non-profit news outlet’. As per Crypto Slate’s reporting, Brave is growing strong, as Q2 of 2019 is supposedly in their favor. The BAT community can also express enthusiasm, as it has “appreciated 160 percent year-to-fate.”
In addition to NPR, other news outlet that have joined the Brave wave include Los Angeles Times, Archive.org, The Guardian, The Washington, Post, LADbible and CryptoSlate!
All this being said, CryptoSlate argues that BAT tipping will never break even with traditional advertising. The case made here is that Archive.org is holds 250th position for being, “the most viewed website in the US” adding that they were only successful in gaining $2,500 in BAT donations since 2017.
Recently, Brave announced the release of their most recent desktop browser, which allows users to, “view privacy-preserving Brave Ads by opting into Brave Rewards.” As per the claims made, said users will receive 70% of the advertisement revenue generated as a reward – creating a win-win situation for both users and content creators.
Here’s what the CEO of Brave Software, Brendan Eich had to say:
“With Brave Ads, we are launching a digital ad platform that is the first to protect users’ data rights and to reward them for their attention […] aims to improve the economic and conversion of the online advertising industry.”
The continuous efforts on Brave’s part depicts the extent to which the team stresses on efficient Internet use, privacy and protection and what truly belongs to content publishers.
